UPDATED UPDATE -- It appears the blog quotes a briefing by Becky Xia of Fragomen Immigration consultancy based in Shanghai -- given to AMCHAM in Shanghai on April 29th . This is the problem with bloggers. They just write down the source and don't check out the accuracy. I am going to have to contact the company to get the relevant information source. My own e mails to the visa office in HK remain unanswered after weeks and after the change in the visa application posted on the site -- I have got my people in China looking at it through my political contacts.

Dont worry Boris - you can be assured it is like it is. I have sent some Factory big shot from Fuzhou there to the security office - entertaining them with several letters (from my company) and his factory - both in english and chinese and they clearly told him they cannot issue this letter - they need Foreign Company registration in China - same company who is applying for this letter. The best was there final advice - why do they not buy a china visa at CTS in HK - this is around HKD 1,500 only.
This Visa notification form seems to be an almost not available document - as this was used for more than 15 years not anymore.......whatever the situation is frustrating and we will need to use other ways to get our visa or not - the idea of getting a VISA NOTIFICATION LETTER is part of the game (not GAMES) to make it a MISSION IMPOSSIBLE. Multiple entry F visa simply not existing for the time being !

So why do you think that China is immune from revoking visas after they are issued? There are plenty of other examples of other countries doing it. A visa is valid only as long as the issuing country wants it to be valid.

1)
Until now all of my colleagues with still valid multiple F visa going in and out without non of them getting the visa revoked.
2)
The problem will solve itself as latest in end of June + July the multiple F visa (6 months issued in Jan + Feb) will expire. Then there are only the ones left who got the visa re-newed in March - lets say from early March to March 20th - because from that moment on multiple was not available anymore here with HK travel agents. So no need to revoke anything......You got it now ?

There are multiple entry China visas out there with validity of up to 3 years.

But clearly you are just focussed on your own little world...

visa in expired passort

I am an american pp holder and permanent HK resident. I have a 3 year multiple entry visa which is valid through Oct. 15. however, i need to get a new passport next month. I read somewhere in this forum that Chinese immigration will accept a valid visa even if it is in an expired passport if you carry both with you. This is not true for other countries, so i wonder if anyone that has done this can confirm that it works.

a pal of mine (australian passport) also has the same thing - valid visa but in a full passpor. He uses his no problem with his new one.

Hope that helps....also, another friend of mine just gets pages added to his exisiting passport at the US consulate here in HK....suggest you try that route first....he has had 8 occasions where he has had added new pages...his passport is now more like a telephone directory. He is also an HK resident.
