VMLinuz - I just got more info from my friend today. The reason given was that he is not a HK resident. So, that must means that they are not canceling the multiple-entry visas of HK residents that were issued prior to these new regs.

Any more information such as what kind of visa it was (L? F?), when and where it was issued?

Good - means Apec cards issued to HK residents are safe (for now).

CONFUSED.. what can anyone answer 1 day visa question?

I have a friend coming to stay in May from UK. I want to take her to Shenzhen (Lo wu) for a day trip.

Is this possible? I have contemplated booking a REALLY CHEAP AND NASTY hotel, then using the confirmation, but not actually staying in it..

Have also suggested she checks out the Chinese Embassy in London.

Any ideas for any of the above..

Many Thanks.

I would definitely get the visa in UK and meet the requirements there - whatever they will accept.

When you find out let us all know at the moment its a bit " Shakespeare ". ( What happens next? -- Its a mystery !! )

On this subject I had lunch in Qingdao on Tuesday with members of the city Politico as I used to socialise with the mayor a bit until he got arrested a while back ! Mentioning the Multi Visa thread and the stuff that was going on, I repeated the item about 1) Original letter and 2) Letter from a CGM saying the company who wrote it was legit.

On point 2 they just couldn't stop laughing. Nice to know government speaks with one voice - not !
