Please be informed that with immediate effect all China visa Application must present a confirmed round-trip air ticket plus hotel confirmation(s) or voucher(s) relevant to the destination(s) upon submission. E- ticket copy is acceptable.
Furthermore, passport holders of the following 33 countries and do not have HKID cards will need to apply the China visa in their country of origin or home country.
1) Afghanistan, 2) Algeria, 3) Bangladesh, 4) Congo-Democratic Republic of, 5) Egypt, 6) Gambia, 7) Ghana, 8) Guinea, 9) India, 10) Indonesia, 11) Iran, 12) Iraq, 13) Kazakhstan, 14) Kyrgyzstan, 15) Libya, 16) Malaysia, 17) Mali, 18) Mauritania, 19) Morocco, 20) Nepal, 21) Nigeria, 22) Pakistan, 23) Philippines, 24) Saudi Arabia, 25) Sierra Leone, 26) South Africa, 27) Sri Lanka, 28) Sudan, 29) Syria, 30) Tajikistan, 31) Tunisia, 32) Turkey, & 33) Uzbekistan. | So I'm guessing a day trip to SZ is now out of the question, even if you are trying to get a visa in advance.

| | They just don't get it This visa issue is just another example of the unbelievable thought pattern of the Chinese mind. When they are expecting more travelers the smart solution would be to ease the policies so you have a secure but simple method of allowing travelers to spend money in your country. Doing this now will either eliminate people from regional travel in and out of China and visiting places like Macau, Hong Kong, or Taiwan or just cancel the trip all together because of complications with multiple destinations. Most people coming this far will want to travel around and see as much as possible which might mean multiple entries to China. I have had a multi visa for 4 years and now they want me to buy double entry at the same cost. I don't care if I ever go back to China and I am writing my Congressman to suggest and pressure that they stop ALL USA visas to the Chinese until after they come to their senses. I also hope they choke on all the vacant hotel rooms and Olympic tickets they don't sell! I am sure this will all boil down to one moron making a stupid decision because the Foreign Affairs Minister said in a story that they haven't changed anything. And since no one has the nads to question a stupid decision it just keeps on rolling along. And they wonder why so many foreigners are running their companies...so they will stay open. I guess I don't need any fake purses, copy dvd's, or dancing monkeys anyway. There's always Thailand!!!!!!! | |

| | | If your not flying into China and apply for the visa in Hong Kong, the ticket and hotel details will be Hong Kong related NOT China.
If you fly directly into China then you will have the visa already -- unless -- like a friend of mine -- you turn up and your wife discovers that she hasn't got a visa and gets immediately deported. Oh to see the look on HER face when he walked back in the door after his trip !!!

but seriously, i think this is china's way to closely monitor people coming to china and weeding out "terrorists" wanting to disrupt the olympics.
it's all a mess now! | |

India is the home to 3 of the world's riches (top 10)if I remember correctly. | Singaporeans (along with people from Brunei and Japan) are allowed visa free travel to China for up to 30 days, i think.
