| | | Different prices are levied on different nationalities.
The reason appears to be " officially " related to the cost of a PRC applicant to get a visa to that respective country.
Unofficially is seems to be " like us and get a discount ".

| | | Just for information a copy of the email I received this morning from the British Chamber of Commerce:
Good morning Jay and thank you for this note which provides me with useful additional information about the Visa issue. The answer to your question is "Yes" we are very active in this matter. Steps taken thus far are to get the British Consulate to raise it with the Chief Representative of the PRC Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to get the European Chamber and all its constituent members to write to the PRC Government, to send a letter to the Chief Executive of HK. We are on the case rest assured.
Best regards | |

| | | One consulate down only 221 to go -- for a quote.
Myself I have put in two e mails to a) a high profile member of HKG business community and b) a well known local print media ( to ask why they are so silent on the issue).
Its time to get out your keyboards people and make this an issue for your consulate / embassy / high profile friends. If you work for a MNC then ask what they are doing.

| | | Regarding different prices for different nationalities, I paid 850 HKD for a double-entry visa (British passport). Valid for 3 months, max stay is 30days per visit.
My French colleagues paid HKD400 for the same visa....

Also have got each of our guys here to email through to their respective consulates and Chambers of Commerce to keep pushing the issue.
Know it's not a lot but it is better than sitting down and doing nothing about it at all.
