Broadband Setup - Park Island

I've just moved to Hong Kong and living on PI.

In the process of sorting out Broadband and have a very stupid question(s) -

Do I need to have a phone line installed/activated to get Broadband.

The phone sockets in the Apt all say PCCW - do I have to sign up with PCCW?

I understand they (PCCW) probably have the most coverage/highest speeds as they own the lines?

Any other relevant info would be much appreciated,

Absolutely not. The next carrier will happily remove those sockets and replace with their own.

If you want Now Broadband TV, they might be the best option for a combined IPTV and Internet deal.

I'm on Park Island too. I'm with HGC. Do call and check with the companies if they can provide the service. Don't give them any deposit first. I gave PCCW a deposit for broadband and they couldn't give me the service for some reason and had to keep up a big fuss before my deposit was returned to me.
