Are you saying? air issue clarification

Dear Sleuth,

Are you saying the air at the Peak might be clearer than the air at Repulse Bay near the water?

Just wondering if this is a widely held view or documented view.

Thanks,

Kathym

Sorry to be confusing, but I wasn't saying that. Anything on the south side is less polluted than the middle or north side. Most of the heavy pollution comes out of Guangzhou region, down the Pearl River (north and west). Granted, there are some power plants in HK which screw that logic up in their areas, but it's a general rule of thumb.
Peak would be better than Central/Admiralty in terms of ground level pollutants, though, because of less cars.

Kathym, I just moved out of the Leighton Hill in Happy Valley, across from the race track. (got to expensive-our flat was sold) We were sorry to leave, loved it. Moms take stroller out to the racetrack and walk around the track and happy valley is lovely and flat enough to push stroller. Also, close to causeway bay, we never felt the need for a car there; so close to bus, minibus tram and mtr and lOTS of taxis always available. Also, join the Chat at the Marriot on Thursdays, 9 am to 11:30 ( go to lobby and ask) there is a person there for giving info to new moms for play groups, moms out etc. moms from MANY different countries. Good for networking, finding healthcare and new mom friends. You are going to love it here. Good luck.
