We may be moving to HK from the States - what are the best dog food brands available there? Our dog is currently on specialized food (IVD Potato & Venison), think the brand name is Royal Canin. It's only avialable at the vet office here in the states.
What is the next best thing?

We get our dog's special diet food, Science Diet JD, from our vet. The regular Science Diet and several other brands are available in the grocery store/pet store. Not sure of your particular brand. Our dog's special diet food costs much more here than in the States.

Sambuster, I have seen many signs here for Royal Canin in the windows of local vets. Other brands I have seen are Eukaneuba, Science Diet, Pro Plan. The cost is higher than in NY (I paid $550HK / $70US) for the large size bag of pro plan. There are many pet shops and vets that can also special order food. Regards - Eric

It is indeed fairly easy to get speciatly dog foods in HK, but they can be pricy. If it is a food you can only get through a vet, try contacting a couple vets offices in HK to see if they can supply it beforehand. Royal Canin is definitely available in HK, but not sure about about the particular variety you are using.

Wise Pet - index also imports various premium pet foods, but for specialty vet foods you will probably have to find a vet here.

100% sure that there's Royal Canin. The animal hospital that my hubby works for do sell it.
