| | | Manila to Subic Hello there! Does anyone know what is the most convenient and fastest way to get from Manila to Subic? I am travelling with a 2 year old toddler. How much would it roughly cost to hire a taxi all the way? Would appreciate if anyone has any idea. Thanks! | |

| | | An alternative would be to get the plane to Clarke, much nearer Subic. | |

| | Sorry, cannot help with information on the taxi, but another option to consider is flying. For instance, these guys operate direct charter flights.
Downside: Tiny plane that only seats 2-3 passengers (at least the one I was on, they might have other ones and I presume there are other operators) and is not particularly comfortable and a little noisy - experience is more like a bus ride than your regular flight. Also, not sure how your 2 year old would like it.
Upside: Fast (45 mins) and pretty convenient. Not too pricey - paid about PHP10,000 one way for the entire plane.

| | | Er, hullexile, which plane would that be? Are HK Airlines flying there again?
Unless you mean to go to Macau and take Tiger.

| | | If you're looking for something completely non-exotic that does not involve flying on a 4 seater plane.
Take a taxi. Get a reliable travel agent to book you a private taxi / car which will take you from the Manila Airport to Subic. I've done that and its not too bad ... can get a bit hot though if you're going to do this in Summer and you'll have to deal with possibility that your driver might be still living a fantasy of being an F1 pro.

Unless you mean to go to Macau and take Tiger. | Hong Kong Express started up the flights again on March 5th. Nothing on their website but it does exist. Mon, Wed, Fri.

| | | Ah. OK. Thanks. Wish I'd known that before I just bought some tickets...
Is it any wonder they don't get enough passengers when they do everything possible not to advertise the service!
Having said that, looking at the HK Airport website it appears to be Sunday, Wednesday Friday, but with the usual "when they feel like it" caveat - it just didn't appear in yesterday's schedule for example.
Let us know if/when you've taken it a few times and let's see if the reliability gets any better than it was before.

| | | Thanks guys for te info. We have checked the flights from Hkg to Subic but the were no flights on the days we wanted to travel, which is this thurs. Plus the agent told us the other flights on other days this week are full already. Therefore we have to fly to Mnl.
I would look at the option of the seaplane, thanks for the recommendation. If not, I will probably take a taxi, yes, hopefully the driver is not a F1-wannabe. Is it alright to just get one at the airport or do I have to book in advance? By the way how much is PHP 10,000 to Hkd?
Thank you! | |

| | The flights Hullexile was suggesting were to Clark, not Subic, but also not on Thursday. OANDA, The Currency Site: Foreign Exchange Services and Trading for currency conversion. PHP10,000 is currently a little under HK$2000.
Taxis from Manila airport to Subic will be no problem on arrival at NAIA (Manila Airport). However, my wife (who comes from Pampanga) suggest that a taxi might be PHP5000 or so since there is no direct route to Subic from Manila - you need to go up to Pampanga and turn left!

| | | Thanks PDLM, I tried contacting the Subic seaplane today but no answer so far. I will see if they can do a trip to subic. Thanks for the info about the taxi fare, any idea how long the journey will take and is it ok to grab a normal taxi from Manila airport? | | Tools | Search | | | | | Rate This Thread | | | All times are GMT +8.
