| | | Er, ahem. 25 is youngsters amongst us expats. The "older crowd" is at least 40+...
And yes we can still party (and drink you youngsters under the table).
It does help if the music has a melody as well as a rhythm, and preferably lyrics and real instruments.

| | *hands pdlm a walking stick to help him down the streets in lkf*
(just kidding!)
in terms of music- i'm talking about dj's and not live music...
over in nyc, the younger crowd (obviously relative to my 'old' 28 yrs) would be either the fake id and/or just out of college crowd. Quote:

| | | OIC I'm afraid I really don't get this "star DJ" thing. Wouldn't a jukebox be easier (and cheaper)?
Do youngsters this days really not value live music?

| | i'm not into techno/house so i'm not into the 'star dj' thing either...i'm just into good music i can dance to...juke box= breaks in music
as far as live music- i value live music (love concerts) but to me it's a different mood.
i.e. if it's midnight here, i want to go out and dance in a club. if it's 7pm here, then i would prefer to go see a concert/live band etc... Quote:

| | | Chacun a son gout..
For me, if it's 7pm I'm still working. At 9pm I'm eating and by 11pm (if I weren't happily married) I'd be down at Amazonia listening to the rather excellent house band doing their repertoire from Lynard Skinnard to Pink Floyd, via Queen, Led Zepp, Bowie, and other great stuff. And with all the tottie you could want to dance with (vertically or horizontally).

agreed.
while i listen to pretty much every genre of music out there, when i'm in a club, there are certain artists that just set the right mood...though no one will remember who they are 10 years from now!

| | | When I'm in a bar (is that a club without the self-important thug on the door?) then I agree. Pink Floyd, Led Zepp, Deep Purple, then I'm in there. Strains of Duran Duran wafting out the door (or no discernable melody) and I'm walking right on by...
