Online Brokerage in Hong Kong for trading US Stocks

Hi all,

I want to open a account to trade US Stocks.

I have less than $10,000 USD to deposit and I want a broker with low commission rates.

Looking for one I can sign up for in Hong Kong to avoid posting paperwork to the U.S

I have looked at E-trade, but their commission is ridiculous at $19.99 a trade with account balances below $50,000.

Thanks in advance

Jason

Besides Chuck as KIA has already mentioned, there is also Fidelity here. However, none of those options are going to be "cheap." I would seriously doubt that you will find a US discount brokerage with HK presence (i.e. Ameritrade, TD Waterhouse). Also, if you are planning on doing serious investing and making money, the $19.99 commission should not be your first concern.

Also, if you think that you have a bright idea of trading US stocks in HK while evading capital gains taxes in th US, you will likely get yourself into some serious shit....especially over the pennies you have to invest. Unless you're planning not to return to US, I would not advise that course of action.

Good Luck.

Also, the amount of paper work for opening a US account is really not that much. Do it once and you're set ...

Interactive brokers should have pretty competitive fees and commissions.
