Where is SinoDefender when you need him to stir things up? He is the master of the "go home if you dont' like it here" line of defense.

Where did I bash China ?

So none of those area's of technology were ever invented by the west ? And you are willing to stand by the original poster which I gave a reality check to ?

Nice work Golly. lol

I keep hearing how advanced China is, which I find annoying considering its being "fed" technology, its not creating anything on its own. Any country being "given" technology and large scale investment would have advance like this, its not by any miracle of Mainland design lmfao.

Ethiopia would also be one of the worlds most "advanced " manufacturing locations globally, had we invested the same amount of money, handing over technology like we have with China. Its not an opinion, its a concrete fact.

So, my Pelicans of Monteray theory still stands.. Which in the story, when the fishermen who fed the 5th generation of Pelicans left due to over fishing, the Pelicans who no longer could hunt for food on their own, reliant on the the fisherman, they subsequently died of starvation.

When the money stops, China wont have much of a leg to stand on, not until they build a brand identity of their own ( like the Japanese did ), instead of just being the worlds OEM supplier, hiding under its veil of end consumer anonymity.

In that regard what do you think of Taiwan?

BTW, there's some election noise from Ma out there about boycotting the Olympics, so it's back on topic....well, kind of.

there are 2 ways to get anyone to do anything - the stick and the carrot - generally speaking the carrot works better. The West should be finding ways to encourage China to change not keep beating them over the head. PS how about the compass, gunpowder, rocketry, canal locks, pasta, gunpowder, and a whole host of other technology invented by the Chinese when most of the West was running around painted blue. Gengis Khan brought modern farming etc

neha is on a distinguished road
Nobody will boycott the games because of local market that everyone wants a piece of . If USA presses China on Human rights , China will cancel a big Boeing order and pass it to Airbus and vice a versa. So all the Govts say that they are having dialogue with China on Human rights
