yes - gold coast has a website

Hong Kong Gold Coast Residences

you want the gold coast residences info.

the agents are in the shopping mall but I suspect you can find a number on that website to ring if you like.

They told me that I could stay in a serviced appt for a month and then if I wanted a longer term contract I could convert and stay in the same place and that they could provide furniture or take it away as required, but you would have to check out all those details with them. The furniture was pretty crappy in my oppinion!

Hope this helps.

Smile Gold Coast

We were looking for an unfurnished flat, they said at the time they would remove anything we didn't want and leave anything we did. The wardrobes are good to keep as they are made to fit in the rooms.
There is IKEA in HK, they deliver AND assemble (the best thing EVER!) if you do end up wanting to choose your own furniture but not spend too much in the process.

I have lived in an apartment at Gold Coast phase 2 since January and love it. I pay $11400 a month for 2 bed aparment, fully furnished overlooking the pool and marina. It is quiet, the pool is beautiful (although the outside pool took a couple of goes to get finally opened for summer), there are tennis courts, gardens and the mall with a supermarket, restaurants and bars only 5 mins walk and beach about 10 mins walk.
The person who looked after me was Samuel:
samuel_lim@sino-land.com
He was great, especially as I had to sort everything out from the UK before I even came over. But I did do a 1 month serviced apartment let before I signed up for longer, which was $13400 including a cleaning/laundry service. (1 month deposit. You pay 2 months deposit for a longer lease).

The hotel/resort buses are very reliable. 30 mins to TST, 20 mins to Tsuen Wan, 45 mins to Central/Wanchai. Plus on the main road outside Gold Coast there is the the 962 to central, 61M to Tsuen Wan, 52X to Tuen Mun and back to Sham Shui Po, plus many others I have yet to investigate. There is a 24 hour public bus from Jordan to Yuen Long where you just ask the drive to stop wherever you need. If necessary, a taxi from TST is around $180 and from Hong Kong side about $240.

I find Gold Coast convenient, it has everything I need for relaxation, cheaper than living nearer town, lovely views and just what I want after a hard days work. Any problems are solved quickly (eg. my bathroom door handle was accidentally locked from the inside by my 5 yr old nephew and it took 5 mins for the workmen to arrive and sort out the problem......this was 10.30pm at night when we realised we could not get into the loo!!! So an emergency dealt with swiftly!)

Louise

Not too happy with GC

It's good to live here, but pretty isolated from pretty much everything if you don't have a car. The rent does not include $1600 for parking.

I also think we got ripped off with rent as we ay 24K monthly for 3 bedroom 1300 sq.meters, furnished, not serviced. Should have negotiated with them for sure.

Anyway, our contract ends soon and we can't wait to get out of here.

What is the phase of your apartment or are you in a villa?

Ph.2. Also, I meant sq.feet, not meters.

If you are living in one of the top floor duplex apartments, that include a full length balconey off the lounge dining room, and a roof top 700ft2 terrace accessed from the second second floor internal staircase.

How do you figure that you're being ripped off ?

On the goldcoast website, these apartments are advertised @ $23,500 per month by Sino, who run the leasing office, or did you rent off a private owner ?

Sino increase the rents by 8% pa btw, which they are entitled to during this current property environment.

Hillgrove apartments a block down the road from the Gold coast residences, are being let out for $25,000 per month @ 1500ft2 at less net area efficiency, so they are probably very close to your 1300ft, factoring in that Gold Coast is around 85% efficient, Hillgrove is 70ish % net floor area efficiency. Newer apartments = smaller apartment net floor area's than those in older complexes.

Anyway, its what the market rate is in the area. It doesnt sound like you are getting ripped off.

No, we live in a regular apartment in 28 floor building, not in the duplexes with terraces. Nice view, but tiny balcony.

Are you renting through Sino property Inc or a private landlord ?

Sounds like a private landlord, because you are paying more than what Sino even charge, based on their Gold Coast Residences price list.

We're renting from Sino, and we signed 2 yr contract with them on Dec.2006 when prices were even lower. It's furnitured, but still, in my opinion it's more than we should pay.

Anyway, we're looking for another location now.
