WTF do I need an account manager at a gym for? I didn't want to leave anything more than a name and number so I said 'thanks but no thanks' and left. Is that normal for a gym? Surely there is somewhere else where they are a bit less corporate and a little more.........gym?
I left that place when I realised what its more accurate name is: Fitness Second Moolah First...

rate cards

Hi Lammarite,

I suggest you go to physical if you want a gym that will just give you price.

the quality health clubs will not just give you a price. the reputable clubs will find out if you have fitness goals and your general fitness levels as they are responsible for the wellbeing of the member.

That's absolute and total bollocks as well you know. It makes no difference on membership cost how fit I am.
I'm sure Physical will be happy to find out that an employee of Fitness Worst is publicly accusing them of not being a reputable gym.

Agreed, The only criteria for variations in membership costs are

1. Dependant on who you work for, You might get a corporate rate

2. Any Special promotions on at the time

3. Level of membership

Those are the only criteria I can think of where membership prices would differ from person to person. Level of fitness has no bearing to it whatsoever.

Enjoy Physical or one of the government gyms, it seems you are right and these are the most suitable clubs for you.

Yeah, the whole bargaining thing at some gyms in HK is a real pain, but once you're signed up and making regular payments, you just walk in, work out, shower and get out. California's a lot worse than FF in that regard. IMO Pure's the best though, but then you'll have to go all the way to Soho or IFC...

BTW, Austlondon didn't mean you pay a variable rate based on your fitness goals. What he meant is the better gyms will help you out with a program (at first) and then try to push personal training on you as hard as they can.
