Difficult times for all

A wailing and gnashing of teeth. Tears and pain for even the strongest constitution.

The markets opened over 1k down this morning.
Bear Sterns bought for 1 cent on the dollar in a fire sale.
The Fed comes out with ANOTHER emergency rate cut on Sunday.
SCMP of 8th March Business section is total doom and gloom on every page. Followed by a week of chaos and uncertainty
This last week has seen the markets and the USD take a real wupping.
Fed gives 200bln to help its friends but the world can't find 20bln to cure the AIDS problem in Africa.
Ferrari blow up not one, not two but THREE engines in the Aussie GP.

What more pain can we go through ?

Just when you thought it could get no worse - I have news that will shock you all to the core.

Maccy Ds have run out of the Big and Tasty Burger !!!! Last week went in for my Saturday treat. " Sorry sold out " . SHOCK AND AWE
This Saturday McD has signs up " Out of Stock "
Now I am putting myself on suicide watch. I just can't see a future in my life anymore.

Is this the true consequence of the mighty US falling into the economic abyss. When they can't afford to supply the Big and Tasty Burger to their fan base, is it time to get the .45 out of the draw and write that final note to loved ones?

Wouldn't macdonalds running out of big and tasty burgers be the silver lining on that cloud though?

Seriously though I'm meant to start work for a u.s bank in a few weeks and I hope this recession doesn't have consequences in my future job role.

KIA
Lots of raw pasta going to eaten in Marrinelo this week. They have to give their homoginised engines to FIA by 31st under the 10yr no change regs.
No doubt they might blame it on the new ECU. Microsoft AND McLaren involved? Sounds like law suit to me !!

Thats what worries me as I'm still going through the security checks etc and whilst theres no doubt of me failing this, until I'm physically there and working theres this niggling doubt that it can all fall through.

And under the headline -- The sage of Wall Street states the obvious ?

Who's next Citi ? BoA, HSBC ? Lets have a pool on that ( Who and When - Winner takes all ).

For me I prefer to think more lateral. The Euro is being used as safe haven and shooting up like a rocket. Too fast too soon? Priced to flatter? With economies like France ( down the toilet ), Italy ( always down the toilet ), the eastern block ( lots of suction sounds with money pushed in at an alarming rate ) where is the strength. Belgium Frittes Industry?

I'm wondering once the financial institutes see its time to break the increasing vacuum that is the US market and spend spend spend on bargin basement products, Europe is going to suffer massive and devastating decompression.

The first sign will be an acute shortage of Crepes and Pomme Frittes. Follow the trend boys !!
