Looking for a cookbook

I'm looking for a cookbook for Chinese "Special Ocassions" recipes, in English. Does anyone know if such a book even exists and where I can find it? (I'm not familiar with bookstores here as I live in Fanling and all the bookstores here carries only Chinese books.)

Paddyfield has a lot of Chinese cookbooks to choose from depending on your level of cooking skills. You can purchase online and have it delivered or choose to pick up from their store in Wanchai.

On the PBS channels stateside, the two reoccurring chinese cooking shows are Yan Can Cook and Simply Ming. Their respective cookbooks:

I would hazzard to guess Martin Yan's recipes are closer to what you're looking for.

Eddie, take a look at shopinhk.com and see if the title that you want is on there or email us the ISBN on sales@shopinhk.com, we tend to have a much larger collection of north american titles than the other stores in HK.

Eddy, a lot of good cookbooks are published locally. Quite a few are now bi-lingual. Best to go to Xinhua Bookstore in Causeway Bay, or the bookstore by the Wanchai Computer Center

Hong Kong Book Centre is a few doors west of WorldWide House on Des Voeux Rd C.

Don't let the small entrance fool you; down a flight of steps is the belly of the beast, covering the whole basement.

You can easily spend an afternoon thumbing through all the books they have on cooking.

Take this as a handy guide to what is on offer for Chinese cooking.

Welcome to Swindon Books Online

They have several affilates around town but this store has the best vibes for browsing imao.

thanks for the tips guys!

I'm buying this for my best friend who is a chef... and he already has all the popular titles, but he can't seem to find anything in English on "Special Ocassions" recipes... such as Chinese New Year recipes, Moon Festival recipes, etc.

I got me some searching to do now

A book by Grace Young (Amy Tan's sister) includes celebration foods. You can get/view it at the library.
