Sounds good, should I contact anybody first, or I just show up at the pitch, by the way my name is King, and is it real grass, or artificial?

No need to contact us especially. If you want you can check out the message board ( Hamsap FC - All Discussions ) or the Google Group ( http://groups.google.com/group/hamsapfc ) but as long as you know the time, date and pitch location, just come along.

This Sunday it's an artificial grass pitch in Tung Chung.

The following Sunday it's a real grass pitch in Happy Valley, then back to Tung Chung for a few Sundays after that.

Sure just come along. Numbers should be just right this weekend, maybe we have a few extra subs but nobody minds a few quick substitutions on a 30 degrees day in Hong Kong.

You know how to get to the pitch right? It's on Man Tung Road in Tung Chung. There's a map posted in pretty much every other post in this thread and on our website. And it's 3pm this Sunday.

The game went well today, reasonable turn out and the rain held off for us thankfully - actually it was pretty decent weather for football by HK standards.

Next weeks game is on Sunday July 6th at 1:30pm in HAPPY VALLEY.

It's a 7-aside grass pitch, next to a bunch of other pitches in the middle of the Happy Valley racetrack. We've got Court 7. It's easy enough to get to, from Times Square in Causeway Bay (which is MTR Exit A) just walk south through some confusing little roads until you see something that looks like a racecourse.

Bring suitable boots for a grass pitch (but not full metal studs), and two different coloured shirts - ideally one red and one blue, but whatever really.

The forecast for next Sunday's looking good (sunny, warm, slight risk of heat stroke) and the commentary will be provided by Michael and... well, Michael mostly.

I hope you guys have room for an extra soccer fan - I'm from Korea and I'd love to join you guys for the Sunday games.

I'm just wondering the level of play that is expected from your weekly games. I'm 20 and I'm athletic, but I have never played competitive soccer before...

Thanks guys,

All over the spectrum really, some people running around constantly for 90 minutes, some people taking a fag break at half time... a few people collapsing from heat stroke every now and then (well, just me mostly). I wouldn't call our games 'competitive' by any means, just a regular Sunday kickabout. We're getting a bit better as we go along though.

--

While I'm at it - here's the list of upcoming games so far. We're aiming to have every Sunday basically.

July 6th Football at Happy Valley grass pitch, 1:30pm till 3pm.

July 13th Football at Tung Chung grass pitch, 11:30am till 1pm.

July 20th Football at Tung Chung grass pitch, 1pm till 2:30pm.

July 27th Football at Tung Chung grass pitch, 3pm till 6pm, (3 hour stupidly long double-booking mishap extravaganza! We might take an hour-long halftime for drinks or have a mini-tournament or something.)

Most guys don't bother (we don't wear metal studded boots). I have some but don't wear them on the astroturf, kind of feels like an unfair advantage. We try not to kick each other in the shins.
