| Hi,
For future reference for others asking the same question, here are my findings: Beverly Plaza - ONLY if you are a mainland chinese tourist and have a kinky fetish for REALLY hard beds New Century Hotel - give it a miss, unless you are enamoured of sea views Holiday Inn - expensive for the old rooms, see if you can strike a deal for a renovated room under $800 Rio Hotel - acceptable large rooms and good size bathroom. it's a casino hotel so expect the lift to be full of smokers Regency Hotel - was once upon a time a Hyatt regency, but still basking in the faded glory. breakfast is atrocious and packed to the rafters with...you guessed it...the rooms are tarted up with a lick of paint, but this is a seriously shabby hotel and expensive for what you get. nice views though Royal Hotel -saving the 'best' til last - this is where i frequently stay. Rooms are comfortable and nicely refurbished; room service menu limited but ok; breakfast has good western & asian options. Staff are generally helpful and rooms have a nice open view. My preferred choice for 'budget' hotel in Macau. |
