Help needed on Sponsorship

I am an Indian married to a HongKong Chinese and have been according issued a HK ID. My brother has been staying here for over 9 years and also holding a HK ID.

We have lost our parents and have only 2 aunties as guardians living in India.

Since they are getting old and need constant attention we wish to bring them to HK for good. Is there any way that we can sponser them into Hong Kong.

Hospitalisation is an expensive affair in HK hence we dare not risk bringing them on Visit if god forbid something should happen.

Would appreciate your feedbacks

You probably want to talk to immigration about this. They have a fairly restrictive definition of what they consider dependants.

How old are they? How about calling them as domestic helpers, if possible!!!!!! Might be a temporary solution but takes care of all your worries.......

Thanks Fellows

Thanks everybody for all your messages ..really appreciate it. Nivantj, have thought about the angle of calling them as Domestic helpers but as i mentioned they are getting old and not always in the best of healthand neither me nor my brother can really afford the high costs of hospitalisation if they should need one. I guess will have to keep my fingers crossed and hope immigration can consider an option between sponsoring them as dependents and domestic helpers

Umm...I'm confused!!!! Arent Domestic helpers and dependants enjoy the same subsidised medical facilities provided by HK Govt.? And in any case if both of you cant afford any cost, there isnt a question of calling them here in the first place, isnt it??
BTW, What do you mean immigration can consider an option between..........!!!!

I don't think Domestic helpers enjoy the same medical benifits as dependents do, also dependents get other benifits such as tax rebate, social security etc, which we are willing to let go, but the medical cost would be really a major expense to consider, thats what i mean by an inbetween solution .. any suggestions

As I understand it, any holder of a HKID card gets essentially free medical treatment in HK hospitals: http://www.ha.org.hk/hesd/nsapi/driv...R%26Area%3dFNC

Ummmm... Still confused!!! What could be inbetween solution and how Immigration can help you!!! You are the one to decide whether you want to try for dependent or helper visa based on definitions of each category and Advtg/ Disadvatg available. You cant expect Immigration to show you options in such case. They only know how to approve/ reject applications. So better make sure YOU choose the right option. Once rejected, will have more troubles next time.......
