Sai Kung & Marina Cove experts please

Have to trek over and explore the Marina Cove Area ton the weekend and trying to get any sensible answer out of the bus web sites is " doing me 'ead in ".

Coming from Northern NT ( Tai Po ) looking for bus and mini bus connections into Marina Cove area. No doubt there is many from Sai Kung but its not an area I am familiar with.

Bus connections from where, is easiest ?
Sha Tin ?

299 KMB bus from Sha Tin terminus under the plaza. Get off at the Sai Kung terminus, and walk over to the 7 eleven and opposite the 7 eleven is the mini bus rank.

Get the 9A green roof PLB which goe's to Choi Hung MTR, get off at the Marina Cove Entrance 1 or 2 ( 2 is where the welcome super market is ) which will be on your left about 5 km down the road..

There's another mini bus that goes to Hang Hau MTR which would be the biggest shopping mall that services the Clearwater bay area, as a "central" meet up / pick up location, following on from your other post. Can't remember the mini bus number but its clearly sign posted at the Mini Bus Rank and HANG HAU written on the bus banner.

We'll be sailing from Hong Kong Marina today as a matter of fact, a stones throw from marina cove .

Unfortunate you didn't buy property in CLB in 2004 like when we lived there, prices have at least doubled, in some cases tripled since then.

Enjoy your property seeking mission, perfect weather for it.

Ha Ha, I realised as we were leaving the drive this morning, that the Choi Hung mini bus number is 1A not the 9A, but you would have figured it out, as the mini buses are named with their route as well as their bus number.

I forgot to add, that the Hang Hau mini bus also goes past Marina Cove, so either option from the mini bus rank located at the end of Fuk Man road, opposite the 7 eleven, would have been fine.

Sorry for the mix up

As I did the visit yesterday this info is a LITTLE late !!

I got there on the 92 bus out of Diamond Hill Mtr
and returned in the 1A to Choi Hung Terminal just in time to see a 74x bus that goes direct to Tai Po central.

FYI - the property agents at Marina Cove ( by the Wellome ) are stuck up elitists who, if you don't have 25 mill to spend, just can't be bothered.

Found the guys at Sincere ( who are at Hebe Haven ) most helpful and used them to investigate Ho Chung New Village, Wo Mei, Nam Wei and Pak Shek Toi. My body is in turmoil today after all the walking!

Great big thank you to Lammerite who gave me hospitality - his young son is FAR too handsome for words - and showed me round Nam Wei.. Also thanks to his lead ( Venus at Century 21 - Sai Kung ) who gave me some great properties to consider with breathtaking views.

BUT - Jesus --- the prices are going through the roof in that area !!!

Real estate in SK

Glad you had a productive (if frustrating) day, Boris. Yes... prices have been rising pretty quickly out here. SK/CWB is becoming most popular because people are realizing the value of open spaces and clean(er) air.

How about checking out the areas north of SK Town...Tai Wan, Tai Mong Tsai and even as far as the Country Park. It's not that much farther than Marina Cove, public transit is pretty good now, and prices are quite a bit lower. You also have walking trails at your doorstep.

We'll have our SK Directory & Map out soon - that lists a large number of real estate agents who specialize in this area. I agree - some deal only with high rollers - it's good to check out a number of them. In the meantime, pick up our magazine at bars, restaurants, etc. in SK - we've got a few property agents who advertise in there.

If you have any specific questions regarding amenities etc. in SK - don't hesitate to send me an email (judy at exploresaikung.com) and check out our website (soon to be re-launched) for info on people, places and community issues.

Judy

I only am looking as far north as Marina Cove so the areas I looked are tied to my plan. I actually walked from MC to SK and back down again, to get a good idea of the area.

I feel, to meet the brief, my initial feeling was correct to concentrate on the southern end.

Glad I could help out a man who looked like he needed a glass of water and a lift to the end of the road!
I went out on Saturday night to Hebe 101 to watch the rugby and a couple of the other local expats were talking about Nam Pin Wai as a good place to invest- especially if you want to buy off plan.

Yes. Could you please all stay in Mongkok or wherever you stay right now? We don't need more cars and traffic jams in Sai Kung.

We just managed fine when you could get a nice flat for 5k or less.
