Expat = someone living in a country other than their country of citizenship.

As far as I know there are no requirements (age, etc.) to participating in expat wives events. There are women of all ages.

Welcome to expat wives.

Thanks MissSF - exactly right - is open for any ladies who want some friends to hang out with - don't need to be an expat or a wife - just someone looking for friends and generally free to meet weekdays - as this is when we get together mosty often.

Hopefully see some of you tomorrow.

Hi Kate

I might be slightly late at Mix. Geoff's back has "gone", and we are trying to find a decent chiropractor.

expat wife?

Hi
I don't know if I consider myself an expat wife but I've moved to Hk for a year now and my husband works in china so there has been a lot of commuting.

we come back on the weekends. if anyone is setting up events for weekends, i would really like to join and meet some friends.

i live in the midlevels if that helps.

julia

Thursday get together

Hi guys - lets meet up on Thursday as seems to be the day most of us are free this week. I'm postponing the discovery bay trip till next week as Rosemary can't do this week and it is only fair we include her in this trip as it was her idea in the first place - will post more about next week later.

Date - Thursday 8th May

Place - come on guys give me inspiration - what do you guys want to do on thursday ?????

Time - depends what we decide to do!

Julia - hi welcome to the thread - please keep a look out on the thread we would love to meet you - but I am just warning you that we tend to meet more during the week as the initial basis for setting up this group was that a few of us are currently not working and were looking for friends to meet up with during the day mid week. A lot of us are more tied up at weekends when husbands etc are around.

Hi, enjoyed last time...thanks for organising again Kate.

I can throw a suggestion into the pot : Soho - Portobello Cafe, Staunton Street, they do great cakes and are famed for their Tea's (and coffee's) and other savory stuff too.

Sheena. xx

Another Newbie

I've been reading a few different threads - I'm not only new to HK but new to forums - but this sounds like a welcoming group.

I arrived with my husband 2 months ago. I don't work and I don't have kids. I like it here, but I would like it more if I knew some people in the same boat.
If it matters, I'm in my mid-thirties and from the U.S.

If you're planning any meet-ups in the near future, I'd like to join in if welcome.

If Thursday in Soho, I think I can do that.

Thanks
