Clearly not masters of just-in-time inventory. And to think, I have problems storing a box of clothes, yet these guys have a year's worth of drink hoarded somewhere.

So what else is there besides wine beer and all alcoholic beverages?

It has just been patiently explained to me that ghosts ghouls and other ghoulish types will still have to pay duty on their tipple.

This is of course a sneaky way our Johnny boy lets his compatriots charge gwei los a 'special' rate for their grog.

According to the HK Standard, ParknShop (and subsidiaries) will be dropping red wine prices by an average of 28% as of today... We wait and see.

To be honest they could have done something else with the money....

People who buy wine are usually people who can afford it...

I reckon there's probably a pretty good correlation between taxpayers and wine drinkers, so it's not a bad way to give a refund.

Would normally agree with you there... but also heard a gweilo-friend mutter that only about one-fifth & less of the population pay most (or any!) tax in HK, so he asserts the few $$$ saved off his drinks are well long due

And, as I'm partial to my usual tipple of red with meals, IF indeed prices drop per bottle, might (at long last!) 'upgrade' from the more mediocre sips.

BUT would really doubt what an eager wine & alc. industry rep said on RTHK-3 yesterday, that there'll be as much as 15%! passed on to end-users - Yeah right. In the short-term, will wee discounts on supermarket shelves really make much of a difference? Time... competition... will tell.

I see no evidence of any price changes on the Wellcome online shopping site today.
