Best way to transfer money to my UK bank account each month

Hi There,

I have just accepted a job in Hong Kong and can't wait to get out there. Ill be starting my new job in April, however I'm slightly concerned that I have some financial committments in the UK and need to somehow transfer money back to my UK account on a monthly basis.

I'll be transferring approx 12,000 HKD each month to my UK bank account with HSBC.

Is the best thing to jus set up an account with HSBC in Hong Kong and just transfer this between the two or will this be expensive? Should I set up an alternative account before I leave te UK?

I've even considered fed exing it home each month to my famly...but not sure about that. Id really apeciate some advice from someone who has done this...

Thanks!
G

Not expensive to transfer from HSBC HK to HSBC UK. Cheaper than fedex for sure.

It will cost you about $150 per transfer if you are an standard HSBC customer. If you have enough money with HSBC (GBP60,000 or HKD$1M) then the transfers are free,
