Internet service for a short term

Is there any reliable internet service I can get for short term(6months) in Causeway Bay, without having to sign 12-18month contract? I know of Smartone Vodafone's pay as you go plan with the usb modem, but anything else that you know of?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thats is pretty much it unless you want to live in a cafe with free wifi like quite a few locals seem to do.

Netfront Internet Services has something ... check their english section, which offers service without long term commitments.

I had PCCW install a connection for me at my holiday villa in Mui Wo over Christmas, and they charged $600 for installation and $280 per month for a 3.5m speed.

I only needed it for 3 weeks but ended up paying for 2 months, as they need one month notice for cancellation of service.

Silly me.

I think with Netfront you put down some deposit for the router or something.

Their website does not say they need a deposit for the short term connection - just an upfront installation charge.

"Includes ADSL modem rental, 24 hours unlimited usage No PNETS Charge"

Excuse my asking -

How much is Smartone Vodafone's "pay as you go" plan? Do they also charge an initial join up fee?

Know someone who's also interested, short-term.

The cost of the device (and the last time I checked it was locked to their network) makes it an expensive option.
