I was told that according to Hong Kong law the tenant is allowed to stay in the flat for 1 year after the expiry of the standard two year lease (provided he/she pays the rent in time). The landlord cannot force the tenant to vacate the premises. Is this true? Can anyone give me a web site where this issue is dealt with. Thanks.
