It certainly couldn't happen now in the UK, the amount of form filling would not allow it (and two or three teaching assistants in each class!!!!)

That's precisely how he got away with it, his assistants did all the writing/reading!

He retired in the late 1980s so this was when the parents were educated. I am really not sure if I believe this story. (He managed to get written scripts passed to him for every exam in his life and was never spotted? He was never required to read the timetable to know which classroom he was meant to be in? He was never required to write a letter to a parent? The students never gave him notes to read? His teaching assistants never noticed that he did not read anything nor wrote anything on the board? He never had to teach on his own?).

I can understand how he graduated from high school in Blythe, California, (a small desert community) and a "college" in Texas, (Texas -need I write more?), but working for years as an educator? Pitiful.

quite the con-man. He should have gone into politics.
