which of the two bootloader is better?
if i am going to pick an iphone, which firmware version should i look for?

can anyone tell me what is the importance of firmware version? what does it do to your iphone?
and what version should i choose if given the above choices.

It is, but do a little research online to make sure that WHEN you upgrade from any version to the latest version, there is a program available to unlock it yet again.

With apple's policy of keeping the iPhone up-to-date, the most important thing it does is look for unauthorized unlocked phone softwares and locks them back. Effectively, your iPhone becomes a iBrick (or Bricked as the lingo goes)

No idea about the boollegger or bootloader however. Jimbo might be able to answer it better

not sure to be honest but do your research online and don't update anything via itunes if you're worried about bricking it.

yup mongkok is the place to go.

well the 3g version is imminent so personally i'd wait for that if I was you, tbh I'm not sure on current prices as I haven't been there lately but pricewise its definately dropping due to most people who wants one have either got it already and those who do are holding back for the 3g version.

it doesnt matter which version you buy, as all are fully upgradeable and fully unlockable.

just get the cheapest one you can find (although you are far better off waiting at least a few weaks for the 3G release at WWDC.
