Place to Live in HK Hi All, I will be shifting to Hong Kong in June 2008. Would just like some feedback on where to stay.. I am single, male and have a monthly housing budget of around 10-15k. My office will be based at 3 Exchange Square in Central and thus would like a place where I can easily access the office from. I have read a bit about serviced apartments? are there any decent ones in particular? Cheers for any feedback.

In your budget, you can easily rent a home in wanchai or Central area. If you like bars i recommend you to rent a home somewhere near luard road. Hong Kong is a flexible city, you can sleep a night in HK$20 per night and even HK$60,000 per night in Peninsula. it is all up to you how and where you wants to spend. Agent are nice and they can help you to find a very nice place. find some nice agents.

check out hongkonghomes.com. they list a lot of current apartments and also serviced apartments. they're not necessarily the cheapest but my experience when I moved was very positive. moving on your own, if you want to get out and meet people, midlevels or wan chai are best for convenience. take a serviced apartment on a short-term contract and then have a look around. it'll give you the option of staying in that type of accom, or moving into somewhere more long-term.
