Let's be clear, Edison Chen has not committed any criminal offence. There is nothing shameful about having sex or about taking photos of it (with the consent of all involved). The only thing he has to apologise for (to the public at least) is his incredible stupidity in leaving them for the technician to find. Last edited by PDLM; 09-02-2008 at 12:27 AM.

Whats even more stupid is that he actually made this video. |

You mean the apology? I guess his lawyer advised him to do something to try to minimise any lawsuits that come his way. But frankly if any of the remaining several hundred photos feature the niece of The Big Boss (his current girlfriend apparently) in similar positions and they get released then I suspect his days are numbered (hence the rather stressed look I guess).

good clarification. Good clarification, yet part true. There is an on-going investigation concerning the girls in the video. It is suspected that they were drunk and / or un-aware of the event. If it is shown that this is the case, Edison Chen is in some serious trouble. If not, then we are waiting for him to return to Hong Kong to make his apology. Oh, and he didn't exactly fly strait from Hong Kong to America, he did some serious detouring which is a little suspicious. It will be interesting to see how it turns out.

yes, the apology, as it confirms that the pics are true. He could have kept quiet and just left it all up to speculation... no matter what the "experts" say about the images, if no-one goes on record to confirm its authenticity, it's still speculation on the public's part.

The "drunk" thing doesn't hold water. If they were sufficient drunk to be deemed incapable of consenting to the photography then they were also sufficiently drunk to be incapable of consenting to sex, so he should be charged with rape. But just looking at the photos the only one who looks at all under the influence of anything is Cecilia and from what I read she has a hugely long record of sleeping with more or less anyone so it would be very hard to make anything stand up in court.

Oh for heavens sake - have you looked at these pictures? There is absolutely no doubt at all that they are genuine. (Excepting the Joey Yung one which some people are bundling in with this for no good reason - that's clearly a photoshop fake that has been circulating for a while)

From what some guy friends have been saying, something like: "Mannn... with those not-bad-looking girls, so willing and game in front of the camera, what a lucky [so & so]!", Edison's envied, as well as (rightly) ridiculed. Don't think that ALL 6 girls involved in the hundreds of pics (1,300 to be exact) were taken completely "unawares". On the contrary, maybe seeing their hot sexy selves in voyeuristic instant pics got 'em going (?). Nothing wrong with that - consenting adults, behind closed doors and all. But now to dramatise their innocence, shock and horror is a bit much. "Scandal"... "Trauma"!? HEY celebrities, THINK for a sec, any time there are digital reps of you in riveting, revealing positions stashed on someone else' harddrive, there's always the slightest risk of these foxy files (accidentally, or otherwise) switching hands and floating on the net, eventually. No shame really if you've got bods others would admire... So instead of playing freaked, forlorn "victims", just grin and bear - wait till it's yesterday's tabloid sh*t-stirring sensation. Double standards rule. Over-valued "feminine" over-modesty's over-rated, anyways...

Edison Chen Dumped From Movie Edison Chen had his scenes in an upcoming movie pulled yesterday, as a result of the recent sex photos scandal that has implicated him and famale celebrities, including Gillian Chung, Bobo Chan, Cecilia Cheung and Yu Chiu. Columbia Pictures announced that its film Jump, a joint production with Stephen Chow's company Star Overseas, which was due for release 1 May, has now been put back until 1 October. The Hong Kong-made film was to star Edison alongside Kitty Zhang. Stephen, who is currently out of town, has yet to comment. A spokesperson for Star Overseas confirmed that some scenes from the movie are to be reshot, but did not say whether or not the actor to be replaced is Edison. Director Stephen Fung confirmed that he had received the news from Star Overseas. He said that he now awaits the return of Stephen Chow and the arrival of a Columbia Pictures representative, so they can recast. He added that he was completely satisfied with the professionalism of all actors who had worked on the film. However, he refused to comment on the scandal involving Edison. Edison had apologized for the scandal in a video message released on Monday. Last edited by dean-dzai; 09-02-2008 at 11:30 AM. Reason: Chinese characters did not appear, so I deleted them.
