Non-smoking Depressive Buying a Computer Er... it's not for me. It's for 'me mate like. A depressive person who wants to give up smoking in Hong Kong, and buy a computer. 1 -- Are nrt products (nicotine), especially inhalors (if not anything, I don't want to see him chewing dog ends he finds) available? Are they cheaper than non-prescription London prices? 2 -- What about St. John's Wort (herbal depression medicine)? Where? 3 -- If I... I mean my mate, wanted to buy a computer with an lcd screen at Fortress (yes, not the cheapest but he doesn't like haggling and might need the guarentee honoured at some point). Say he went to Fortress, had a demo of an Asus eee pc and wanted to buy it, would they give him the one on display he's been looking at, or go to the back and get a new one in a box? I'm not sure which is best. A display one 'open box' would be discounted in Europe and probably won't be in HK... but then again, an lcd screen might have dead pixels, as least it could be checked. What do you think? I'll pass replies onto 'my mate'... and he thanks you in advance.

1. don't know about the inhalers, but i've seen the patch and "herbal" cigarettes. don't know what's up with that... 2. i've seen St. John's at GNC (locations all over town GNC: Vitamins, Supplements, Minerals, Herbs, Sports Nutrition, Diet & Energy and more). try looking into 5-htp also, it might be a better answer. Good Life Nutrition (http://goodlifenutritionhouse.com/) has the lowest price under the brand Carlson Alpha, but it doesn't seem very good. 3. if there's so little patience for haggling, just go to Fortress and get the new one in the box. the sham shui po/wan chai mess just gets exhausting sometimes. there's a lower label price, but you pay for it by hunting... sometimes worth it, sometimes not.

Thank You Brilliant answer(s). A patch is better than nothing. There's a shop on Nathan Road with sjw, and Expansys are expecting the eee end of Feb. This had cheered me, I mean 'me mate, up - despite his seretonin. Thanks again!

In case you're still trying to check and balance your low moods, try eating stuff with more Omega-3, or taking supplements like "Fish Oil" (also from GNC available in Mannings), along with regular brisk walks daytime outdoors, away from gray urban concrete. Plus listen loud to upbeat, thumping tunes - Things will pick up. (And oh, substitute the "you" with "yer mate".)

Yes I think the moods OK at the moment (... 'me mates), and yes, already do the fish oil and walks, which is probably why. But the question's kind of linked. I.e. past attempts at giving up smoking seemed to spark depression. So it seems a good idea to hopefully have a double pronged attack on my (...his) last addiction.
