Hello to All...

I am working in a trading company dealing in exports of electronic goods...have been in hk since 2006 and renewed my visa last yr for another 2 yrs..(valid till june 2009).

Now i wish to start my own trading company in partnership.

would like to have ur guidance on the following issues...

1)Is it legal to form a partnership company while i am still employeed with my current employer?

2)if it is...then what is the procedure to transfer my visa to my own company ?


My ''to be business partner'' holds HK passport.

All your inputs/querries will be highly appreciated...

Yes! dear. it is legal to register a company and become a patner in a new business. BUt to remind you it will be illigal for you to run that company without the prior approval of the director of immigration.

After registration of new company, you can simply go to 5/floor of immigration to apply for transfer of your visa to new company.

Just to remind you if your partner is already hong Kong resident or permanent resident, then it would be little harder for you to obtain a permission but not impossible.
