I live and work in Shenzhen, when it came to buying a phone (Nokia N95) my friend told me they are much cheaper in Hong Kong... is this true... if so has anyone got one and how much does it cost and where did you get it???

No, you are right. Mobiles are cheaper in HK than they are across the border. Actually a lot of mainlanders when they come over to HK, they pick up a few for themselves. Have no idea why they are cheaper here though. Best place to pick up a bargain is in a mobile phone shopping mall in MongKok across the road from the big Esprit on Nathan Rd. Tons of shops selling mobiles in there.

If you're crossing the border at Lo Wu, take the train all the way to MongKok East. I'm looking on Centamap right now I think the building is called Sincere Building on Argyle Street (go to centamap.com and type in this building name). You could also try Sham Shui Po but that area mainly sells computer stuff.

Exit D2 at Mongkok, straight ahead of you will be a clothes shop called crocodile.

Cross over and keep on going, On the left hand side you should see a large shop called Gome, Carry on and cross the next road then turn left and its on your right hand side, Loads of mobile phone shops on the right, Go inside the glass doors and its on three levels, Any problems its known locally as Sin Tat.

The N95 8gb should not be any more than $4900.
