| Can one be more egocentric? Did anyone read the blurb in SCMP by local actress Bernice Liu on her thoughts about Heath Ledger's death? Personally I'm not a great fan of Ledger, but I know he'll be the Joker in the coming new Batman. But anyway, notice the way Bernice talked about Ledger's death: -First sentence, "Probably he..." -Second "Everyone..." -Third "I..." -Fourth "I'm also...." -Fifth "To me...." And the description of the little qoute is "Actress Bernice Liu Bik-yee on Heath Ledger's untimely death". What they should've captioned is "Actress Bernice Liu Bik-yee's weak attempt to use a total stranger's untimely death to talk about and promote herself". |

| But seriously .... he was no James Dean. Seriously though, atleast she had a PR agent who recognized an opportunity for some shameless self promotion.

| Actually should have said .. his death does not rank as being as tragic as James Dean. His was well .. how should I put it, Darwin's law in action.

He's definitely no James Dean, but still... unassuming, easy on the eyes, playing off-beat, brooding parts that appeal a little to most ladies. BTW, seems that HK actress' English is probably so "pedestrian" that she's unaware she comes across as irritatingly "egocentric" when always beginning sentences with such 1st-person / reflexive pronouns (?!). |

| Wow, Heath Ledger was just starting to really show how good a character actor he could be, not quite Jeffery Rush yet, but he certainly had the respect of such accomplished people.. I agree with Sera, Anybody who knows a thing or two about good movies, knows, that Heath was destined to be every bit as good as Jeffery Rush. If you have seen Jeffery Rush in the movie Shine, you will get an idea of how good these method actors are, Ben Kingsley in movies like, The Elephant Man and Gandhi also spring to mind, real actors craft kind of stuff, and Heath was in that circle of greatness.. To compare Heath with James Dean, is actually a bit insulting, a spit in the eye so to speak, especially considering the amount of industry recognition Heath achieved in such a short but accomplished film career. All by being out of the Hollywood lime light, if anything he never relied on the media to gain attention, he chose the big screen to display his ability, and hated the paparazzi BS side of the industry, not dissimilar to Johnny Depp. Heath will be missed, he really had a lot more to offer, and from what I heard during the shooting of The Dark Knight, Heath totally highlighted Christian Bales limitations, and was just on a whole nother level. Heath stole the show with his interpretation/rendition of the Joker. One of my favourite movies staring a young Heath Ledger has to be Two Hands with Bryan Brown, Heath plays the character Jimmy so naturally he really was worthy of being successful via the depth of his acting talent. Great movie for a foggy day like today Last edited by Skyhook; 26-01-2008 at 02:03 PM. |

| Weird .. got to look into his movies if you folks say he's so good. Have not been following the new "I'm so trendy its tragic" lineup of stars and just assumed he was another drugged brat who met his calling.

| Two hands the entire movie is on Youtube, starting from the above part. Excellent movie, one of Heaths best performances. Last edited by Skyhook; 26-01-2008 at 02:12 PM. |

| True, Ledger hasn't made any ground breaking performance (well other than Brokeback Mtn which I haven't seen yet, but even that's more to do with the role than his performance. Ok, Ledger fans, please don't throw red paint on my door.). But I think he's one of the better new generation of actors who knows his skills are far better used in movies other than teen bloopers. Anyway, the guy's dead at 28 with a 2 yr old daughter, least they could do is show some respect which Apple daily totally did not. Like how would you like your dad/husband/brother's death highlighted in one sentence on a front page "NAKED CORPSE OF BROKEBACK ACTOR FOUND". Respect, a concept totally lacking in a lot of places these days. |

| Last week TVB slipped up and showed 'The Sin Eater' at primetime. I had heard of the movie, but had not seen it. Thank you TVB for showing an early Ledger flick on the eve of his passing. Great shot to remember him by http://img.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/200...LL_468x768.jpg |
