questions regarding ROA/RTL

Hello all

Newbie here but I have a question

I'm wondering if I can apply for the HKID

my background is that

My dad has the new hkid/smart card, holds a british/hk passport but has immigrated to Canada

My mom was born in China, but moved to HK when she was a kid..then to america, she holds an american passport but is a permanent resident of Canada

I just came back from HK but was confused on the process or even if i am elgible, I was supposed to get my HKID before I turned 17 but I was too lazy to(i regret that now) that was over 9 years ago

Theres a similar thread to this i guess, and Siwo has a list of documents that I'd need to produce to get ROA, I'd need to fill out ROP 145 correct?

I'm looking to do this the next time i come to HK which would be in the summer time, I don't mind coming back since i love HK(better then vancouver :P)

Thanks

I highly doubt that you can get ROA unless you can prove you have settled there for at least 7 years.

You can probably get a RTL if you can prove of your parents are ROA. Here's another thread of someone's else situation.
