Angry lost mobile phone

Well, I lost my Sony Ericsson mobile phone today at a shopping mall or on a bus? What is the chance of getting back? When I called my phone, it didn't ring, just go to voice mail. Now I have it deactivated. Any way to trace it back or should I just buy a new one?

Well if you have deactivated the SIM then you have no chance of getting it back - how would anyone know where to take it?

If you are going to get a lost phone back then it is from whoever finds it; if no-one anserws it for 24 hours then frankly you can consider it lost.

Thats rite most probably no chance... but lets have little brain storming here..
Assuming the person finding the mobile is honest and wants to return it back without taking much effort.
Some ideas,
(1) Should v keep the SIM active for a day or so instead of rushing to cancel it!!! (Obviously thats the first thing that comes to mind)
(2) If SIM is deactivated and the person wants to reach you.. How???? If the person gets phone No. from memory and call that person how would he/ she inform whose mob is lost? Therefore, is it a good idea to keep some no. in phone memory with relative's name like Wife, Brother, Sister etc....
What are the pros and cons of these crazy ideas!!!!!!
Any more fancy ideas???? (Except returning the phone to Orange or Sunday?)

After all, little ideas do big things sometimes...
