Have you tried Jusco, Wing On and other local dept store? Chinese New Year is coming up and usually there're promotions or discounted household items like mattress.

In my past searching, there didn't seem to be that much price differential between different stores for mattresses. High quality, sprung mattresses seem to be a bit of a niche market in HK, so retaillers tend to stick to standardised pricing.

That said, Banang's advice is good. Keep an eye out for sales, which are so common that buying at full MSRP would be silly (so also take with a grain of salt when salespeople say that the sale is ending 'this Friday'). Some mattress stores will offer interest free or addtional discount deals with certain credit cards so it's worth asking.

There's always the secondhand market if you're not squeamish about used mattresses and are not tied to that specific model and size.

Alternatively, you you may be able to arrange for a mattress to be shipped from a US retailer. This would probably work out if it was one of the more expensive mattresses (20K or more) it's pretty complicated, but PM me if you want more info.

The HK mattress market is weird. There's obviously demand for cheaper, sprung mattresses that only need to last 2-3 years. Instead there's only expensive sprung mattresses designed to last 10-15, or cheap foam blocks with the consistency of bricks. It might be worth checking to see if Airland (local innersprung brand) has anything, but if memory serves correct they tend to be pretty hard.
