Getting to airport early

Hi I need to get to airport before airport express opens from central, can anybody tell me the best way to get there. Will local taxis go there from here keep being told they wont.

If they do does anyone know numbers of reliable drivers

Thanks

How early is "ealry" ? You can go up to mid-night and then from about 5.00am. If its inbetween, take a taxi. Any taci will take you there but try negotiating to see if they will do it "off meter" in which case from mid-levels it can be about HKD275 rather than the HKD380 odd with the tolls.

Generally, airport express does work for all flights so you should see if its more viable.

Also, you could take the A1 bus from central but not sure it runs through the night.

The bus that Plasticdog needs is the A11, the first bus in the morining leaves from North Point terminus at 5:30am.

More details here with the bus stop locations in Central, as well as the time table. http://www.citybus.com.hk/eng/RouSer...pe=D&company=5

I am guessing that if Plasticdogs flight is an early one, this bus maybe a bit late, as that wouldnt reach the airport terminal any sooner than 6:15am.

fsklee will become famous soon enough
The first A11 bus arrives at HKIA almost the same time as the first AE train. I think OP meant earlier than that. In that case, take N11.

a taxi not going to the airport???they usually LOVE going there, not much traffic and a large fare. (sometimes the wait for them going back to hk island can be a little tedious though)

I may have gotten my airports mixed up, but don't they take check in as early as 24 hrs beforehand? Or is that in Hawaii??? I maybe wrong on this, so don't quote me. Taxis would just LOVE to take you to the airport, no matter where you are. But if you don't want to deal with taking a bus, you could also call one of those vans. There are lots here, but just not sure which ones are English speaking.
