Need help choosing cheap gaming computer

After I saw that Dell had a cheap gaming computer for sale (about 3000$ for an Inspiron 530 or 531 desktop), I've realized that it's cheaper for me to buy a new desktop for my kids than to buy new memory+ a new video card.

So what I want to know, is, in the "cheap gaming desktop category", is there anything better than Dell?

Here are the specs of the Inspiron 530:
http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/prod...=dhs&cs=hkdhs1
530s:
http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/prod...b=highlighttab
and the 531:

It's going to be a toss-up between the three because they all seem pretty much the same to me.

Thanks for any help/advice finding the best gaming computer I can get in HK for about 3000 (or less of course!)

I recommend the tower cases (not the smaller mini towers) as they tend to have better cooling and expansion.

Does the $3K include the monitor?

JohanSWE had a good rig for sale a few weeks ago PM him.

I'm clueless about gaming computers .. all the buzz seems to be about memory and graphics cards.

Already sold that rig.
Just a question how old are the kids, and what kind of games do they play/want to play?
I checked the specs for those dell computers, and the CPU wont be able to run newer games.
Same goes for the graphics card if you wanna play in decent quality.
Gimme some more info about the games, the kids age, if you need a monitor and budget etc. and i will try to make some recommendations for you.
You can PM the info.

After config. of the dell to decent game requirements for todays games inc. monitor the price tag ended up at 6898HKD.
So i recommend that you buy a DIY system where you would get more performance for the money.
