| | | new arrival in town! Hi everyone!
I'm arriving in HK on the 24th of January for job interviews, and I have 2 weeks to see if I can live there! On my to-see list are: shops, food, clubs, promenades and most of all, PEOPLE!
Oh, about me: I'm a 27yo guy, half brit half mauritanian, who grew up between France and Africa and travelled a bit around.
So if anyone feels up to the task raise your voices!
Btw, I'm still looking for a cheap / decent hotel somewhere practical to visit. Any advice? So far I've found the Mingle place but couldn't find their website.
Thanks in advance,

| | | Er, Mingle is a "short time" hotel where people go for quick liaisons with people who, for whatever reason, they can't or won't take home. It's hardly the place to stay for two weeks on a fact-finding mission! | |

| | Yup, I understand that. I also found the Dragon Hostel, which is, of course, a hostel, so not that appropriate for 2 weeks.... So let me ask this another way: What's the minimum I can expect to pay for a decent place in Hong Kong, while staying in a convenient part of town (not in the New Terittories/Aberdeen/Macau)? | |

| | | You'll need to define "decent"...
Own room?
Own bathroom?
Room to swing a cat?
Big LCD TV?
Broadband?
Minibar?
Room service?

| | | that's a lot of good questions... So:
_ Definitely own room and bathroom
_ Clean
_ Safe
_ Private (not too noisy)
_ In a good location (basically, close to MTR)
_ Good service would be a plus, but not necessary (who needs service when you have the internet?)
_ Broadband
_ Don't care about room and minibar.
Basically I need a convenient place to stack my stuff and get around (random sightseeing by day and full on party by night).
What about the Dorsett? Seems pretty cheap...
*edit*: I'm not that much abou the view, but a window could be nice...

| | Why don't you give http://www.wstudios.com.hk/ a call and find out what their 2 week rate is. Its located in Lockhart Rd Wan Chai, close to the MTR and right in the heart of it all.
I've had a few friends stay there and they seemed to think it was pretty good for the price, cheaper than a hotel and a lot better than the usual hostels.

| | | Wow! Thanks! This is amazing! I've been looking ofr that kind of stuff, but so far all I could get is the "executive" out of price kind.
I'll give them a call and post the results. | All times are GMT +8. The time now is 02:44 AM.
