Hi All,

I am moving to HK on the 28th of Dec...and am yet to decide on my accommodation.

I'm looking for a short-term serviced apartment - while i shop around for an apartment to lease long-term.

My workplace is in Citic towers - Admiralty... so was wondering what would be a good place for a short-term apartment.

I'm feeling inclined towards a certain 'rent-a-room' - that has pretty reasonable serviced apartments in the Jordan / TST area, but I've been told its best to live on the island itself....how bad is it to live off the island? I'm quite a social person..so will definitely want to mingle around with fellow-expats. But I'm also on a tight budget (HKD 7500 max per month) - so thought i'd get a better deal off the island... any views / suggestions?

on a separate note - what's a good telecom operator to get a mobile line with in hk?

Have a look at Wan Chai - it's walking distance to Admiralty (depending on which part). There are some reaesonable serviced apartments (just find through Google, Asiaxpat etc.). Jordan / TST is okay (we looked there ourselves) but found better value for money, atmosphere and convenience in Wan Chai.

PCCW or 3 seem to be good for telecom arrangments.
