Does anyone know if it is possible to get a HK policy for single trips that covers car rental in the US? Insurance tends to double the cost of car hire over there.

Personal liability at a minimum, damage/theft would be a bonus.

Does any Hong Kong issued credit card offer the car rental insurance like they do in the US?

Looking ro rent a car later this year, and with all the additional "optional" insurance" that the car rental company offers, the price to rent indeed doubles.

You might wanna try a rental broker like sunnycars.com or holidayautos.com. Comes with full coverage (I actually needed it once in Italy, no problems at all) and used to be only marginally more expansive than no-insurance-at-all rates booked directly in the US.
