Dear All,

I lived in hk during last 2 years, but now it's time to change.
here is the point where all my problems starts.
my boss wasn't happy at all of my decision and is reaction was very bad. anyway not a big deal but i need to be flawless and sort out a thousand things before leaving the city.

1- I have HK ID card; once I have resigned what shall I do? its valid til 2009 FEBRUARY

2- Taxes what shall i do? how can i pay all the balance without waiting any form to be delivered to my address? ( I will leave the city soon)

thanks for your help

You can stay in HK within the validity of your Visa to sort out your affairs (and come and go if you wish). Your HKID doesn't expire, it's your visa that does. If you ever became resident in HK again in the future your HKID would become valid again. You don't have to hand it in or anything.

On tax, this is what you and your employer should be doing if you are about to leave HK: http://www.ird.gov.hk/eng/pdf/ir6158e.pdf
