How to rent in Park Island? Hello everybody, I can see many posts about Park Island. I'm also interested in this place but I can't find any official website. Do they have a website? What is the best way to find a rental there? Many thanks. Alex

Many agents have offices on Park Island. Take a ride out and talk to them. Beware, some agents will ask you to sign an exclusive agent contract, even if you are just looking at property. It is usually for 90 days, but if you buy or rent using another agent and they find out, you might be liable for extra fees. Some Expats live on PI, and will probably respond.

I know there are many agents on PI but the pb is I'm not in HK now, I'm moving next month. My company should take charge of my accomodation, but I'm looking for contacts to provide them. Also are the apartments furnished? (basically with a bed, a wardrobe ...) The rental for 2 bedrooms is around 8000-9000, right? One more thing: how long does it take from PI to Tsing Yi MTR? is it really 24h/24? Thx.

| Park Island Renting Below is a link to the developer's website: www.parkisland.com There are many 2-bedroom apartments on PI, in diverse rentals too, depending on sizes, views etc. ($7500 to $9500). All apartments come with a modern fitted kitchen, but not all landlords are willing to provide full furniture. With 3 clubhouses, landscapped gardening, sea view and greenery, you may enjoy resort-style living (dog-friendly too). Access to PI is either by ferry (25 min. to Central) or shuttle bus (8 min. to Tsing Yi), both 24-hour service, but no taxi or private cars are allowed on the island. Basically, 3 major property agents have their branch offices on PI, viz. Centaline, Midland and Kai Shing Quote:

which floor is the best One more thing. I know airplanes can be troublesome in PI so what's the ideal floor to be isolated from noise from the airport?

I do not think it is so much a question of what floor you are living in, but which direction your apartment is facing. Mine is facing the bridge and I must say I do not feel disturbed by planes. But I have heard from friends with flats facing the other side that it can get quite noisy.

I don't think it is the direction or facing that matters, as wind directions often change anyway. But I had one observation when I did my flat search. Those units facing the garden space were more affected by plane noise. I think it is due to echo of the noise trapped in the common garden surrounded by blocks, whereas sound is dispersed away in open space for units facing outside.

Really not sure, I was just guessing. I am in Phase 5, my flat is facing the bridge and the garden, but not low enough to be affected by an echo effect. Anyway, I would still try to avoid facing the airport as the planes are the worst right after take off. It should be considerably better if your flat is not directly exposed to these planes, regardless of the wind direction. I noticed that after take off, the planes make a right turn above Ma Wan or just before reaching Ma Wan, so that my flat is never really exposed. They are always behind me. It's a different matter with landing planes, but they are much more quiet.
