have to extend my visit visa, please help me. Hi all, I am here in Hong Kong now. and my visit visa would be expired on 12/17/2007. I want to extend my stay in Hong Kong but we do not have good reason to show to the immigration. would any one work for me to extend my stay in Hong Kong? 1) go to immigration office and tell them I want to stay until new year with my bf. 2) or go to Macau for visa trip. (will they ask me any question why I want to be back to Hong Kong? etc..) if any better suggestion please let me know. thank you.

You posted previously taht you are engaged to a HK citizen and that you plan to get married imminently. Assuming this still to be the case, and assuming that you can show evidence of your marriage plans (marriage licence application, booking of reception etc) then you should have no difficulty getting an Extension of Stay by going to the ImmD office in Wanchai (preferably with your fiance).

I once extended my visa and show officer in wanchai immigration tower a marriage receipt, and he gave another 1 month extension. one month later after i've registered marriage i cross the border to macau 1 day trip, the next day when i came to hk, i was asked for a reason and how long will i stay in hk, then i just simply showed him marriage certification, and after he saw he let me entered hk, then if you are planning for a marriage, make it quick, otherwise it would be hard if you do re-enter hk more than 3 times. and if you really decide to have a marriage in hk, you have to book 1 month earlier. note: before registered marriage i've done visa run several times, the 3'rd time i was questioned and told to leave hk immediately.

So why don't you just get married? If you already have the licence then you have to do it within 3 months, and a solicitor (Civil Celebrant) could do it for you more or less immediately. And you don't have to book a month ahead - it's 14 days from applying for the marriage licence.

Good luck! It might help if you could take along whatever evidence you have of the longevity & seriousness of the relationship. One of ImmD's main concerns when doing Dependant Visas (and what you're essentially asking for is a "pre-dependant visa extension") is proof that the relationship is "serious". Photos of you with each other's parents, holidays together, any letters, cards, etc. All could help.

Hi all at last I got my dependent visa on Feb 12 after waiting for 1 months and one day. At first, I want to say thanks to everyone who give me idea and information. Before I got my visa I have to go back home for two weeks and visa run to China two times. When we asked at the enquiries section (2nd flr Wanchai Immigration tower), he suggest us to go up to 7th floor and request them to check the visa processing status since it has been 4 weeks already. When we went up there they cannot find my case files and they took several minutes to find it. at last they found it out checked everything. We send all the required documents to them by email at the same day. and I got my visa on the next day. The immigration officer who handled my visa case is so nice and helpful. for my suggest for others ## if you had been waited for couple weeks for your visa (any type of visa) I would like to suggest you to go to the related floor of the tower and request them to check your visa processing status by computer (make sure you bring all the related documents that might be needed for your visa). It will help you alots. ##
