The Nutcracker Ballet

Have you seen a live performance of the Nutcracker Ballet? I am considering getting tickets. Can anyone explain what it is about? Is it any good?

Thanks for all the private email tips. I will attend next week. Got seats in the 6th row near the center, Stall 1. Looking forward to a night of music and dancing.

Surprised that you managed to get seats, as when I booked for Christmas Day about 10 days ago, it was decidedly very packed though I did manage to get seats in the middle of the 1st level.
The Grand Theatre hardly has any bad seats so thats a plus.

Saw The Nutcracker last night and it was fantastic. This was the first ballet performance in my life, and I think I shall attend others. Even though it was two hours, the two acts went by fast, with flawless dancing and of course the music by the Hong Kong Sinfonietta was excellent. Since it was mid-week, the show was not sold out. I suspect there are tickets available for performances other than weekend or holidays. Students and Seniors over 65 get half-price. We were fortunate to get front row seats, and other than a few white lights from the orchestra pit, the seats were outstanding. If you haven't seen The Nutcracker, I suggest you go, and small children (6 and older) will love it.

Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year.
