Chances of getting a job Hihi What do you think of my chances of getting a job in HK? I've got 8 months of finance/banking experience as a Financial Advisor in Canada (employed by one of the top 5 banks) and as well participate in HR Career Recruitment Fairs for this bank; previous to this job, I have worked at one of the universities as a Coordinator for a yr. Both of these positions speaks of developing and improving relationship with clients. My main concern is that I will need a company to sponsor my work visa. Therefore, I ask you, what do you think of my chances of being employed (in either Finance industry or HR) in HK? (ps. i don't want to resort to marrying a HK citizen) Thank you for your time and valuable advice!

To be honest, Your finance experience is not enough, You'll need at least 3/4 years to get your foot in the door in HK in that field.

A FRM qualification or CFP may help a lot. since you are in top 5 bank in canada maybe you can give a try as banks here are hunger for people. But 2 years in your current job will make things look better. Jimbo, still enjoy your fish and chips in UK? when you get back to HK and fight those employers again? Last edited by links; 10-12-2007 at 05:28 PM.
