Don't forget tho, you don't have to buy their 'convenient' packs...speak with your wallet! Ultimately it's the consumer who can choose to be env. conscious...they're not gonna sell what ppl don't buy...

I imagine that, if you have to "pop into" those places, you can usually carry the stuff out in your hands.
But if you don't want to carry, pay for the plastic bag. How many bags could it be? Also, most of these places sell bags you can use again, so you could buy one of those which you can then leave in your office so you can re-use it next time you have to pop in for a few items.

Don't forget, when you go shopping from now on, "take your canvas bags".

Tim Minchin says so .

How would you know if I'm buying them? I made an observation of contradicting policies. FYI, I don't buy individually wrapped snacks - but it's here in HK a lot more than in shops in most other countries. There really isn't much choice for bulk items.

How about you? Do you really speak with your wallet and go out of your way to buy bulk- eg, bulk-wrapped toilet paper? I'll bet not! I'll bet you pick the most expensive scented individually wrapped toilet paper for your fancy smelling bottom.

Anyway - that's just the whole point - let the consumer make the choice - don't make me pay for plastic bags that should come with the service and which I reuse and I won't force anyone to buy bulk-wrapped cheap toilet paper. There are better ways than penalizing the customer.

Besides - parknshop couldn't even tell us where that money was going - only that it was going to be used for "environmental education", ie, their advertising costs?

Chill out man...no personal attack required...just a friendly reminder that no one is forced to buy anything from retailers...and that there are ways to make our collective voice heard...

Now I'm off to buy some blackout curtains for my bathroom..gotta keep out some prying eyes while I wipe my ass...

If certain internet sites are to be believed they would seem to be a standard fitting in Japanese female toilets...
