NCaliNewbie will become famous soon enough
Close to Admiralty

Hi Everyone,

I'm moving from California to Hong Kong and working in Admiralty. I was hoping for some suggestions as to either serviced apartments or studios near the region. I have been looking at places near SOHO, Wan Chai or Causeway Bay.

Are there any other regions I should consider?

The most important factor for me is a close proximity to work, but ideally I would like to be walking distance from a gym, also close proximity to the bar/club scene would be ideal.

My price range is between 5000-8000 HKD, and I would be renting for at least 1 year.

Thanks!

The most appealing place to me so far has been W Studio. Does anyone have any experience with them? The location seems odd to me, they say they are close to MTR but I can't seem to find the station on the map on their website. The url is www.wstudios.com.hk.

Thanks again!

I don't think W Studio (or any serviced apartment in Central/Admiralty) is in your price range is it?

I've been checking prices online and I have been able to find serviced studio's around the area starting around 6,500 HKD. At least that is what it says on their websites.

W Studio's website says that their standard room is for 6,500 HKD a month.

I can pony up more cash, up to the 12-14k HKD range, but since it's just myself and I don't really feel the need for a really nice apartment yet, I figure I'd try to save a little cash for drinking/clubbing/partying.

Have you seen any apartments yet in Hong Kong? If you think that HK$12-14K gets you something in Central/Admiralty/Mid-levels that would be regarded as "really nice" in most countries then I feel you may be in for a shock! (Particularly in terms of the size, but also in terms of things like the quality of the bathroom fittings and so on.)

I've stayed in Hong Kong many times before and know the conditions (Cramped), and I'm not looking for something nice. I just want a close location to admiralty, and if possible a studio with the bathroom separate from the bedroom.
