Me head locks up when it comes to numbers and stuff.

Where in HK can you go to pay a man to tell you how to run your incomes and expenses? I have a feeling I do things very wrong and that there must be a Better Way(TM)

I want to sit across a desk with a dude (or dudette) who can analyze my situation and tell me what the best way is. Anyone know anyone?

kiffguy - the financial advisory industry in HK tends to be very unregulated, despite the SFC waving their whips around.

Your standard Insurance agent disguised as a fianancial advisor, will pretty much try and sell you products that they earn high commissions on. They're sales people ... end of story.

Sad as it sounds... I'd trust the guys over at HSBC more than I'd trust many of the IFAs in town.

Having said all of this, I'm sure there are some good ones... I've just not met any.

Thanks KIA. I was just hoping for somebody to give a reference of somebody with whom they've had a good personal experience.

Also, not really looking to buy a product. Would rather pay somebody a consultancy fee for the advice - and be done with it.

One thing ... make sure whoever you deal with, is licensed by the SFC to advice on securities.

Have met a couple of folks from there... who seemed to be above the product selling thing. See if you can get in touch with David Tehan. They seem to focus on the aussie market and are a part of AXA.

i'm in the process of using one at the moment.

seems pretty good, recommended by my boss who's used him for about 12 years.

he is not putting any pressure on my to buy a product.

btw he is commission based though.

Do verify that the person that pin recommends is registered with the SFC at the link I gave you.

(I need to reiterate this .. as a fair number of players in this area operate outside the law requiring folks who advice on securities to be qualified / registered)
