I am using firefox 2.0.0.10 and not having these problems.

Edit: Just upgraded to 2.0.0.11 and I am still OK. So doubt it is firefox causing the issue.

Nothing to do with Firefox - probably a problem with a DNS server somewhere. You probably have Firefox and IE set up differently with regard to caching which would explain the different behaviour.

This is a known problem... we've not been able to figure out why it happens.... It typically lasts for about 30-60 mins.

Right now, the problem seems to be caused by a bug in apache (our webserver) and not DNS or our own software.

Not too big an issue right now .. it seems to sort itself out every hour.

I have just had the same problem with hotmail.

No connection on Firefox but connected with IE

Maybe the problem lies with the ISP?

There is a problem with some apache (webserver software) modules which I suspect, results in firefox going a bit ballistic with the redirects.

Simply too complex an issue for me to spend days debugging...
