IT Project Manager Salary Range in HK (I am relocating to HK without a job)

Hi -

I am sure this topic has been covered before -

My Dependent Visa was just approved (my wife is a 3-star HKID holder) and we are planning to relocate with our daughter in the coming year from the US to HK.

I am currently a IT project manager (10 years experience) in the US making over US$120k/per year.

What are the realistic salary ranges in HK if I were to look for a similar position without the benefits of being an Ex-Pat?

I have housing so I wouldn't be looking for that in my package.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

Take a look at Hudsons website, they have a salary range for people in the finance/I.T market and thats a ball park figure for you to aim for.

If you get something and need a right hand man then I'm available as of January as I would of finished my stint in London by then!

Assuming you are a real "buysider" guy i.e. working on the buy-side in tech then the comp is no issue.

If that is just a coincidence, the comp depends on the industry you have experience in.

Generally, in In Banks or Hedge Fund, you will get paid pretty well as a Project Manager but will depend on how much knowldge you have and how much of a tech background you have.

if your skills are relevant to the market here, then i'd say you'd get something similar to your current salary in hk..I'm actually recruiting for PM's at the moment on the sell side..when you moving over?

Do you have the right to work in Hong Kong?
Do you speak Chinese?

If no to both of those then you may be struggling to find anything.

I am holding Chinese mainland citizenship and in progress to apply for a talent immigration visa in HK.

Just wondering how the job prospect would be possibly for me in HK market? As a project management professional.

Thanks.

More precisely, do you speak Cantonese? Mandarin, Shanghainese, etc, isn't going to help here.
